There were 21 members on the bus. The weather was cold and showery with a strong westerly wind which made for a hard climb and walk on the top. Thirteen set off on the long walk and one walked along the road from Haughend to Birse. The remaining seven carried on by  bus to do shorter walks at Birse. After reaching the summit of Peter Hill  the main group were able to shelter from the wind for lunch beside a new hut before continuing. All but one were back by 2pm. One person  had found conditions difficult on the ascent of Peter Hill and said they were returning to the road and was picked up by the bus near the Bucket Mill. After a refreshment stop in Banchory the group was back in Aberdeen just after 4pm. David
