There was an autumnal chill for the departure from Aberdeen and occasional showers during the journey to the Spittal of Glenshee. This set the pattern for the day, with mainly dry weather. There were nineteen walkers on the bus; approximately even numbers chose to do each of the two longer walks suggested, Glas Tulaichan or Ben Earb, with a few choosing shorter alternatives. Visibility was good from the tops, although there was a strong wind which slowed progress at times, and for a brief time light snow. The bus left the Spittal half an hour ahead of schedule, and after a pub stop in Ballater, our driver made good time to get us back to Aberdeen with an hour to spare.
