29 walkers set off on a damp day to climb Mormond Hill then pick up the Buchan Way to Fraserburgh which uses the track bed of an old railway line which made that part of the walk very level. There were reports of a rather “prickly” experience on a short part of the walk when coming off Mormond Hill which involved pushing through some gorse bushes and then climbing a fence. Most followed the suggested route with 1 walker missing out Mormond Hill and 5 staying on the bus to Fraserburgh and visiting the Lighthouse Museum where the coffee and bacon rolls at the Coffee Shop there can be recommended – also a good selection of cakes. After this some of the party explored Fraserburgh before heading to the bus pick up point and as Jules our driver had joined us for breakfast the rest were able to get a lift there after visiting the Museum. Most of the walkers met up at the beach and were able to enjoy coffee, cakes etc at the Café there. By this time the rain had stopped so some of us had a walk on the beach before returning to Aberdeen. Heather
