23 of us set out on a cold but sunny day to walk along the Formartine and Buchan Way, a disused railway line which has been restored as a long distance path. After a comfort stop at Ellon we made our way to the start of the walk, 4 alighting at the village of Auchnagatt to do a shorter walk, the rest starting our walk at the old railway station at Maud. 5 stayed on the bus to return to Ellon to do their walks from there. The weather stayed dry and was for the most part sunny, though it remained quite cool. This was not a problem as it made the walking conditions ideal for us walkers. The walk took us through low lying agricultural countryside where we met a few dog walkers, joggers and cyclists also enjoying the day. We all arrived in Ellon in good time, a few enjoying a well earned rest in the Station Hotel. When everyone returned we left Ellon and arrived back in Aberdeen in good time.
