There were 25 members on today’s walk, 16 to do Mount Keen and the remaining 9 to take the bus round to Glen Tanar to do shorter walks.

It was a good walking day with some cloud cover to give a break from the sun. The main group were dropped off at Invermark about 10am to climb Mount Keen. A good land rover track was followed to the summit and lunch was taken just below the summit to shelter from the cold wind. The descent was made on a newly built track to the bridge at the head of Glen Tanar. From here the track followed the glen back to the bus, with a stop at the Half Way hut for refreshments.

Paddy, our bus driver, drove round to Glen Tanar, 44 miles and took an hour and a half, where the other walkers did shorter  walks in Glen Tanar.

Everyone was back by 5pm and we had a pub stop at the Boat Inn in Aboyne and were back in Aberdeen by 6.45pm an hour to the good. Fiona
