There were twenty-six walkers on the bus for the journey to Tarfside.  Two people stayed on the bus to do shorter walks in Glen Tanar, but the rest of us alighted at Tarfside for the through walk.  It was a fine but overcast morning for the start, but became increasingly sunny as the day progressed, and we had good views all the way.  The walk was straightforward and everyone arrived back at the bus with plenty of time to spare.  Four of us enjoyed a very infomative guided tour of St. Elmo’s chapel in Glen Tanar at the end of the walk, a surprise as the chapel is not often open.  We left about 20 minutes before schedule and enjoyed a pub stop at Aboyne before the return to Aberdeen.
