34 walkers, including several new ones, left a slightly rainy Aberdeen at 8.00am but on the
way up to Alford it was obvious that the skies were clearing from the west. After a comfort
stop in Alford all but one alighted at the starting point at 9.20am making their way over Suie
Hill and Knock Saul on an often muddy track before descending over Satter and Brindy hills
to cross the B992 Auchleven road and some more ascent on the path winding along the
southern slopes of Bennachie to finish at the Visitors’ centre where some enjoyed an ice cream
or coffee from the shop. After a refreshment stop at Inverurie where the day’s events were discussed, the driver had
us back in town 20 minutes early. Hamish
