A total of 26 walkers enjoyed a day of mixed weather on this interesting walk. 21 walkers did the full 10 mile walk, 2 the walk of 5 miles and 3 enjoyed the coffee club at Morgan McVeigh’s with the bus driver Jules. The main walk started well but then there were showers on the top. Foundland Hill is covered in slate quarries and an exploration of these on a nice day would be well worth it. The hill and part of the Gartly Moor forest was pretty wet and boggy underfoot with some patches of gorse which had to be negotiated. Everyone made it back in time for the bus to leave at 3.30 which left time for a 30 minute stop in Inverurie to enjoy the hospitality of a couple of pubs. It was agreed that we had all had a good day. Heather
