19 walkers went on the main walk beginning at Forvie Sands. The walk started in the car park by the river Ythan and crossed the dunes and headed towards Hackley Bay. We stopped for lunch in Collieston at the car park with picnic benches. The walk became hard going after lunch as the path was a sheep track. We were accompanied by a couple of sheep for a good part of the walk. They kept a little ahead of us and stopped to make sure we were following. We walked along the cliffs and descended into the Bay Of Cruden. We strolled along a beautiful expanse of beach for about a mile before meeting the bus. The sun was out for the majority of the walk keeping us warm. The temperature dropped suddenly when it clouded over. The other 3 walkers enjoyed walks from Cruden Bay to Slains Castle or along the beach to Whinnyfold. Lynne
