The route notes & maps of the next Club outing on 20th March 2022 have been reviewed in the light of the recent storms which have felled & damaged many trees. The walk from Milltown of Towie to Tarland via Pressendye & the walk to Tomnaverie Stone Circle & return by Drummy Wood were both reconnoitered recently & changes made to the routes in the light of conditions found. Drummy Wood is impassable so this walk (Walk 2 – short walk) will go to the edge of the wood via the Stone Circle but will return by the same route. The walk via Pressendye (Walk 1 – long walk) has also been changed slightly to avoid a field & an overgrown track near Tarland. If anyone has downloaded maps or route notes prior to 8:00 pm on Monday 7th March then they should review or replace their downloads to take into account the changes that have been made to the routes & maps.
ps for those who are interested there are no public toilets in Tarland however the public can use the toilets in the Aberdeen Arms Hotel & there is a cafe & another hotel which are all open for business on a Sunday.
