A short detour straight ahead to the Harbour and remains of a pictish fort are worth a visit. The route now heads Eastwards following an old railway line to Hopeman. Follow the way marked signs through Hopeman to pass the East Beach car park and a row of colourful beach huts. The path soon climbs some steps, continue along the cliff path Eastwards to the Covesea Coastguard lookout turn left at a T junction and then follow the path to the right. Continue along the top of the cliffs passing some impressive sea stacks before descending to the western end of a long beach.
