Your club visits Glen Clova with a chance to bag not one but two Munros whilst also being able to take in the beautiful views at Corrie Fee. The alternative walk follows Jocks Road up Glen Doll to Davie’s Bourach, an emergency shelter, which has been a life saver to many over the years.
Walk 1 – Mayar and Driesh
- Leave the car park heading North West, and stay on Jocks Road for 1.7km until there is a fork in the road at NO 268759 where both walking groups will split.
- Take the left hand fork for the Corrie Fee trail, cross the river and continue up, keeping the Fee Burn river on your right.
- Eventually you will exit the forest into Corrie Fee so take in the views and then continue into Corrie Fee
- Follow the stone path steps up and you will crest over. Head South to the summit of Mayar. NO 240737
- Head East from Mayar and you will reach a fork in the path at NO 259739. (Note: this is the point if you are tired or behind in time you can skip Driesh and descend the Kilbo path here)
- Continue East for 1.4km to ascend to the summit of Driesh NO 271735
- Head West back the way you came to the fork at NO 259739, this time taking the North fork down the Kilbo Path.
- Follow it all the down to NGR where it joins another path at NO 275761 so keep right, then turn left to cross a bridge shortly after.
- Turn right (East) after the bridge and you are back on the same path you started and can follow this back to the car park.

Walk 2 – Jocks Road
- Leave the car park heading North West, and stay on Jocks Road for 1.7km until there is a fork in the road at NO 268759 where both walking groups will split.
- Take the right hand fork to stay on Jocks Road and continue on eventually exiting the forest into Glen Doll
- Carry on up the path until you reach Davies Bourach shelter at NO 234777
- Retrace your steps to return.

The bus is often fully booked which means any cancelled seats can be re-allocated to those persons on a waiting list. Anyone unsuccessful in booking a seat should contact Gilbert who will put them on a waiting list.
