Our popular venue today provides an opportunity to take in another hill or to revisit a favourite walk. The bus will be parked at the Linn of Dee car park (NGR 063.898) all day and there are numerous walks and climbs possible from there. A few of these are described below.
For safety reasons members are requested to indicate on the attendance sheet before leaving the bus where they intend going.
(1) Low level walk with little climbing : via Glen Lui to Derry Lodge thence via path on the west side of Glen Derry to footbridge at NGR 040.958 or just beyond, and return on Landrover track on the east side of the glen. Walking distance = 10 miles (5-6 hours)
(2) Low level walk with 300 ft of ascent : via Glen Lui to NGR 058.923. Climb hillside alongside burn and enter Clais Fhearnaig which leads through eastwards to Glen Quoich. Return on track down Quoich Water and then by road along the north side of the Dee Valley to the Linn. Walking distance =10 miles (6 hours)
