  1. Sgor Mor (813m) and Sgor Dubh (741m). From the bus, (NGR 063 898) head W’wards passing (but not crossing) “White Bridge”. At the bridge take the Lairig Ghru track NW’wards, passing “Chests of Dee” en route, to soon reach a burn at approx. (NGR 003 894). Head NE’wards up the valley to eventually gain the summit of Sgor Mor. From this summit head E’wards, along the plateau to arrive at Sgor Dubh. Head SE’wards over the plateau to arrive at Carn an ‘lc Duibhe (630m). Descend steeply SE’wards to re-join the incoming track and back to our bus. Distance approx. 10 miles.

  2. Ben Macdui (1309m). Take the route to Derry Lodge, do not cross the bridge there as the foorbridge 2 Km further up the Derry Burn may still be closed for safety reasons. Continue N’wards along the path on the East side of Glen Derry for about 3 miles before veering W’wards into Coire Etchachan. Ascend the path towards Loch Etchachan and take the path SW’wards to the summit of Ben Macdui. Return, by retracing your steps to approx. NGR 008 997where you turn off the path & head Southeastwards towards Derry Cairngorm. Keep to the high ground and go Southwards towards Carn Crom (890m), descend towards Derry Lodge and return to Linn o’ Dee carpark. Distance approx. 19 miles. Note: Those wishing a shorter walk could walk to Derry Lodge & back to Linn o’ Dee – 6 miles.

  3. Creag Bhalg (668m). Head E’wards along the metalled road and at NGR 069 899 take the path on the west side of the Lui Water past the salmon ladder and cateracts to eventually emerge on to the Derry Lodge track at approx. NGR 063 906. Continue N’wards on this wide track to Black Bridge (NGR 063 915). Cross the bridge and immediately head back SE’wards through Doire Bhraghad to a junction of tracks (NGR 081 902). This path ascends the hillside for about 750m (distance) before swinging sharp left (NGR 088 904). Go onwards and soon ascend a path on your right, to gain the summit of Creag Bhalg. Retrace your steps to the incoming path and go N’wards across the plateau to the forest which then descends N’wards into Glen Quoich. Return into Glen Lui by the Clais Fhearnaig ravine (SW’wards) and onwards (SE’wards), then S’wards to our bus at the Linn o’Dee carpark (063 898). Distance – approx. 10 miles whole walk. Shorter Walks: To Black Bridge and return under 5 miles and to Lui Water and cateracts & back – under 3 miles.

Bus departs at 7.30pm.
