Today, we are back just north of Deeside in Glen Cluny which goes from Braemar to the Glenshee Ski Centre. Our walk is a through-one so any walkers wanting a shorter or different one please make your intentions known to the committee member in charge of the bus, prior to you leaving.
Our walk commences at the parking space (NGR 145 806) just below the road which climbs to the Glenshee Ski Centre. Walk back from the bus to cross the road bridge towards the signpost for the Monega Pass on your left. Take this track which heads southwards before heading eastwards at a footbridge. Take this track. This track on the north side of the burn passes waterfalls and heads for the old ski tows of the Aberdeen Ski Club. The only remains of the Ski Club are the posts of the ski club hut. Continue upwards to reach the summit of Carn an Tuirc (1019m). Continue eastwards towards Coire Kander and head northwards to join a good path all the way to Callater Lodge. Head down Glen Callater for about 5km to our bus at Auchallater (NGR 156 882).
