Walk Notes
Walk 1 .Today’s walk starts at the small car park at Ordbrae just of the A96 northwest of Huntly was last done in April 2019.
At the start NJ505419 take a good track in a northerly direction. After 600 metres take the track on the right keeping on this ignoring two tracks on the right and one on the left, after 2 kilometres the track turns due north along the edge of the wood passing Roadburn. Stay on the track passing Brownhill Plantation reaching a side road at Ruthven NJ 507470 take the back road straight ahead at the T junction follow the road as far as Hallgreen NJ 495478 turn left and go along the road (path cuts through a field bypassing a Croft), where the road curves left take the track on the right NJ 485475 passed Sittinghillock into Balloch Wood. Turn right at NJ 476478 continue north to NJ 478479 take the left at crossroads and follow vehicle track northward to NJ 478500 turn left onto a narrow path to ascend Meikle Balloch where there is a trig point.
When descending take the track to the right descending to a wide track at the base, at NJ 463498 turn left and after 500 metres take the second right which leads to a backroad. Bear right towards Mains of Auchoynanie, at the farm bear left through a field towards Dunnyduff Wood. Follow the track along the edge of the woods, after 1 Kilometre you reach a stream, follow this north-west crossing another stream the trail turns left. In a minute turn right onto a narrow road leading along Ediniach Road past some new houses and left at the end onto Bridge Street. The bus should be parked on Reidhaven Square on the other side of the A96.

Walk 2. For anyone wishing to do the low level walk pass the route up the hill then take the track to the left at NJ478501, continue along vehicle track for about 2 kilometres and take second right to Mains of Auchoyanie and you are back on route 1
