We left Aberdeen at 09.00am with 18 walkers on the bus to head up Donside to climb Ben Newe. It was a lovely autumnal day with clear blue skies and a light covering of frost. We all left the bus and walked uphill on good forest tracks to reach the top of Ben Newe where we had lunch with good views of the colourful autumn scenery. Most people descended the northeast ridge passing Glenbuchat Castle while the remainder picked up the forest tracks to return to the bus. We had a refreshment stop at Alford and Jamie our bus driver had us back in Aberdeen on time. Alan
