20 members were out, 12 were dropped off at Kirkmichael to do the through walk with the remaining members going round to Dunkeld for shorter forest walks in the area including the Loch of the Lowes nature reserve and the Hermitage.
Mike set off at speed to run the route and also continued onwards to the Hermitage. The rest followed the Cateran Trail south from Kirkmichael for a mile and then turned off west at a signpost for Dunkeld. Unfortunately on reaching the forest, the track went around the north perimeter before going west again, which added a further 3 miles to the walk. The group stopped for lunch at Lochan Oisinneach Mor just as the rain started and waterproofs were required for the rest of the walk to the bus.
One member took cramp in his leg and was further delayed resulting in a late arrival in Dunkeld and subsequently a later departure of the bus home to Aberdeen.
