Sundays’s walk started from the car park at White Cow Wood and meandered to Mintlaw Station via Drinnies Wood, Forest of Deer, Loudon wood and around the northern side of Pitfour Lake, which has a number of follies and abundant birdlife. We then joined the old Buchan and Formartine Way to finish at Mintlaw Station. A distance of about 8 miles. The weather was dry, sunny and mild. There were 29 members on the bus, we stopped at Tesco in Ellon on the outward journey and regrouped at the Country Park Inn at Mintlaw Station for refreshments before joining the bus back to Aberdeen at 3.20pm.
