It was a 9 o’clock start on a beautiful sunny and warm day for the time of year, 31 members attended the walk. We had a comfort break at Aboyne then continued to Balmoral carpark. Most folks did the walk as per route sheet, a few decided to miss out some of the higher cairns. There was ranger led walk to the cairns as well as the Westhill Walkers so it was quite a busy walk. We visited 8 cairns, some were harder to find than others as was John Brown’s statue. John Brown’s memorial stone and gravestone can be found in the Old Graveyard, Crathie. On our return to Aberdeen we enjoyed a pub stop in Ballater and were back in Aberdeen by 6pm. Fiona
