We are now well through this year’s walks programme and thoughts must now turn to preparing a new list of walks for next year.
We would ask you to submit any walk suggestions as soon as possible and no later than 30th October through our web site or if this is not possible to our secretary, Heather.
The committee is due to meet on Wednesday 4 November to prepare the new programme of outings and your input would be greatly appreciated.
The committee has also been busy organising social evenings and has arranged the following events;
> 9th October 2015 – An informal evening meal at the Royal Hotel, Bath Street at 7.30pm
> 19th November 2015 – Photo presentation evening at the Sportsman’s Club, Queen’s Road at 7.30pm
We look forward to your support and participation in these social gatherings. Bookings for the Royal Hotel can be made via the web site or the list currently circulating on the bus outings.
We have also had some good news on the discount arrangements with local hillwalking shops. Craigdon Sports have now increased their discount rate to 20% and Cotswold has confirmed that members will receive a 15% discount on goods. Similarly, Trespass (Trinity Centre) has written to us indicating they are also willing to give members a discount rate and we are currently pursuing this aspect with them.
