There were only 18 on the bus (17 members and one who joined on the day) when we left Aberdeen in the rain. It is just a short journey to Glen Dye so it was still pouring when we arrived. However, 5 hardy souls set off for the long walk to Mount Battock. Others gradually left to do a shorter walk to Charr then to Clachnaben and down again or vice versa. The remainder waited until the rain eased up and stopped to do a short walk. The rain did come on again for a while but by afternoon it was blue sky and fair weather clouds. The Mount Battock group did not delay so we left for Banchory ,the refreshment stop, and arrived back in Aberdeen a little earlier than planned. David Garwood
