This was the last walk on the 2014-15 programme and 32 walkers turned up for what was a most enjoyable day out. We were introduced to a new driver, Julie (or Jules) as we discovered that our usual driver, Tom had moved on to other things. The bus dropped 29 walkers off at the starting point which was at a church on the edge of the village at St Cyrus. 2 walkers alighted near Benholm Mill as the bus returned to Inverbervie & the last walker did some exploring around Inverbervie itself. The weather was excellent for the time of year with the temperature just above freezing and rising as the day wore on. The sky was a clear blue & there was only a very slight breeze blowing in from the west resulting in perfect walking conditions. Most walkers stopped for lunch at the delightful little harbour front at Johnshaven which was about halfway through the walk. There was not much to be seen by way of wildlife although several species of bird were spotted – curlew, oystercatcher, starlings & cormorants plus the usual types of gulls. The walk finished at the newly refurbished car park on the seashore at Inverbervie and quite a few walkers rounded the day off in the bar at the Queen’s Hotel on the main street. Everyone enjoyed a super day out with weather to match. Gilbert
