We were delighted to have mostly clear weather for today, which turned out to be much better than the forecast had predicted for the twenty two walkers. There were only a few fleeting showers, making for a cold but pleasant day overall. We split into two groups with the main group embarking on the coastal route. Along the way, they had to leave the path to negotiate some fences and walk through a few fields with a highlight of spotting seals sheltering from the rough seas in an inlet. The last section of their walk finished with views of Dunnottar Castle, a reward for their efforts.

The second group had an equally enjoyable experience visiting the war memorial and Dunnottar Castle. Their walk concluded with a trip through Dunnottar Woods and a visit to the historic Shell House before heading back into Stonehaven.

Both groups got back ahead of time so cafes and chip shops were sought out as a reward. A special thanks to our bus driver, Stuart, for ensuring we all arrived safely and comfortably.

Many thanks for those that joined us today and throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you next year with the upcoming walk being Potarch to Aboyne concluding with our festive meal!
