After a few cancellations 14 walkers left a very wet Aberdeen for the Central Belt for a walk over the Ochil Hills. We were very concerned that the heavy rain might put a dampener on the walk but fortunately when we reached Blackford the rain eased off . 7 walkers alighted here for the main walk via the reservoir over to Tillicoultry. Afterwards the bus went on to Tillicoultry stopping at Dollar for 3 people to get off for a walk along the Devon Way, an old railway line, to the Tillicoultry area. The rest of us stayed on to Tillicoultry where we went for our various walks. 2 people decided to go up to Ben Cluach, this highest point in the Ochil Hills, one walked to Dollar and back via the Diamond Jubilee Hillfoots Way, taking in the farm tracks along the bottom of the hills. One other walker did their own route. By lunchtime the sun had come and the rain disappeared which meant spectacular views over the Ochils and the surrounding lowland area. After we all finished our walks in Tillicoultry some of us popped into the local pub for refreshments. Afterwards we left for Aberdeen arriving back about 7pm.
