We had a beautiful clear morning when we departed from Aberdeen, with twenty-four walkers on the bus.  We had a journey of less than one hour to the start point at Drumtochty Forest, without a toilet stop due to lack of available facilities along the route.  Most walkers set out for the full route of ten and half miles over Strathfinella Hill, with a couple of people doing shorter walks in the forest.  The route we followed was clear, but fallen trees after the winter storms were apparent along the route, with only a couple of places where it was necessary to clamber over trees.  Thanks to Gilbert for recceing the route on a dreich day a couple of weeks ago and finding a clear route. The weather remained sunny for the entire walk and we enjoyed open views at breaks in the forest along the way.  Everyone was back at the bus in good time, and we left earlier than planned to arrive in Aberdeen at about 3 pm.
