We left Aberdeen with 31 on board, all looking forward to a good day out as the weather forecast was for sun in the morning and a little cloud during the afternoon. 7 alighted the bus at the Cairnwell ski centre to do the walk on the west side ascending The Cairnwell before going over to Carn nan Sac and Carn a Gheoidh and descending past Carn Mor. At the south end of the carparks 16 got off to go over Meall Odhar, Glas Maol and Creag Leacach while 7 others opted for a less strenuous walk at The Spittal of Glenshee passing Dalmunzie House on the way up to the ruin at Glenlochsie Lodge, 3 of whom crossed the burn to take the higher route back through the trees and one just had a stroll along the surfaced road while one of the group opted to go up Ben Gulabin before going down the same way and walking up towards Carn Mor to meet the others coming down. The group who did the walk over Glas Maol saw some wildlife such as a Red Kite, Ravens and lower down near the farm at Tomb, curlews and a mountain hare. Due to time constraints we had to forgo a refreshment stop so the driver could get us back to Aberdeen on time. Hamish
