There were 24 club walkers out today to visit Aberdeenshire’s well known hill, Clachnaben, with 23 starting from the main drop off location in Glen Dye and one choosing to do some routes in Banchory. Around half of those at the main drop off point chose to do the main route along the river, visiting Charr Bothy and then a climb up to higher ground with Clachnaben and Mount Shade as the tops for the day. It was blustery once up on the higher ground with winds in the region of 35-40mph and a low cloud ceiling.
The rest did various other walks with different distances in the area and everyone finished back in the main Quarry car park. As everyone was back by 2:15pm there was time to head back into Banchory for a well earned stop in at the pub, have a coffee or an ice cream as a reward.
Good time was made and we were back in Aberdeen for 4pm. We hope to see you on the next walk!
