We had a great turnout today — 29 walkers joined us for a gorgeous stroll along the Moray coast. After picking people up at Bucksburn and Inverurie, plus a quick comfort stop in Keith, Kyle, our driver, dropped the first group at Roseisle to start the 12‑mile stretch of the Moray Coastal Trail to Lossiemouth. The second group hopped off a bit further along near Burghead. We set off in bright sunshine and a light breeze, heading through the forest toward Burghead before joining the old railway line to Hopeman. Lunch was by the harbour, with cracking views across the Moray Firth all the way to Brora — and even some lingering snow on Ben Wyvis. From Hopeman, the trail carried on along the clifftops, eventually dropping down to the beach. We passed the lighthouse and enjoyed the final 2.5 miles into Lossiemouth. The second group split up for lunch, with some settling in by the colourful beach huts at Hopeman and the rest choosing the coastguard tower near Covesea. Everyone finished within about half an hour of each other, and most of us wandered over to the Ponderosa café for a well‑earned drink and a chat on the decking overlooking the beach. Kyle had us back in Aberdeen around 6pm — tired legs, but plenty of smiles. Alan
