27 Walkers set off from Aberdeen to Linn of Dee near Braemar.

With yellow weather warnings in place for thunder storms from 1pm there was much discussion on the bus for the best routes to take in case the weather did take a turn for the worse. So along with the 3 proposed routes a further 3 were added to the days schedule.

6 brave walkers decided to attempt to make it to higher ground with 1 reaching Devils Point and the other 5 making it to the top of Carn a Mhaim.

9 walkers opted for the proposed route round to Glen Quoich, while the others all opted for low level walks of various lengths. One group visited the recently renovated Red House Bothy and had a very comfortable lunch stop.

The weather, as forecast, did take a turn for the worse in the afternoon with everyone having to dig out their waterproofs for remainder of the walks, but thankfully the thunder stayed away.

Everyone, although slightly soggy, returned to the bus just after 5pm much earlier than scheduled and after a pub stop in Ballater we were back in Aberdeen just after 7.30pm
