25 of us set out for a trip to Fife for a coastal walk from the fishing village of Crail on the East Neuk to St Andrews. On the way to the walk we saw a stream of hundreds of people doing a Kiltwalk from St Andrews to Dundee. Well done to all of them! We were fortunate to have a warm sunny day for the walk after the previous day’s bad weather. Also we were all starting the walk at low tide. 16 walkers alighted the bus at Crail to start the main walk of 15 miles, while 7 of us decided to do a shorter walk of 8 miles starting at Kingsbarns. 2 people decided to stay on the bus back to St Andrews for a walk around the historic town. We all completed our walks in good time even though there were one or two challenges on the way including a stretch which could only be completed at low tide. We all arrived in St Andrews and reached the bus which was parked next to the West Sands. Much welcome refreshments were had at the pub near the Old Course. One walker decided to cool down by going for a swim in the sea at the West Sands. We left St Andrews in good time and despite a traffic hold up near the Tay Road Bridge we arrived in Aberdeen after 8pm. Alastair
