There were 21 walkers on today’s walk from the Well of Lecht to Tomnavoulin. We were dropped off on the Lecht road and had a short walk to the disused mine. We then had a steep climb to reach the right of way path to Chapelton before descending to the ruins of the Clash of Scalan. In a short distance we reached the College of Scalan, a former seminary, where King Charles III had visited the college earlier in the week. We had lunch at the college and some took shelter in the buildings to escape the cold wind!! Our walk continued on flatter ground passing The Bochel ,Tombae and Tamnavulin distillery ( Mill on the Hill) to reach the bus on the outskirts of Tomnavoulin just before the rain came on. We had a pub stop in Dufftown and were back in Aberdeen about 5.45pm thanks to Jules, our bus driver.
