We had a reasonable turnout of members on today’s walk. We had a comfort stop at Banchory before dropping off the main group of 18 members near “The Nine Stanes” stone circle. The main group visited the stone circle and some put on waterproofs as it began to drizzle before taking the path southwards through the forest towards Kerloch. It was a steep climb to the summit but were rewarded with good views of the surrounding hills and nearby wind farm. Lunch was taken at the summit while sheltering from the bitter wind. It was a gradual descent before contouring the hillside to the bus at Bogendreip. A smaller group of 4 were dropped off near Moss-side to do a shorter low level walk and one remained on the bus to our end point at Bogendreip. The smaller group enjoyed good tracks for the first half of the walk, after lunch the path became narrower and wet in places. It was a good day as the light drizzle cleared to give a lovely spring walk. Everyone was back on time and we had a refreshment stop in Banchory. Peter, our driver had us back in Aberdeen half an hour to the good. Fiona
