Twenty walkers set out in autumn sunshine to tackle the scenic spur of the Speyside Way from Mill of Tommore to Tomintoul. With clear blue skies overhead, spirits were high as the group split evenly: ten took on the full 14-mile challenge, while the rest opted for a gentler 9-mile route starting from Glenlivet.
The tracks were well-maintained throughout, winding through forested paths that offered shelter for our lunch breaks. As the afternoon wore on, the skies turned overcast as we reached the summit of Carn Daimh (570m), where we encountered a lively crowd of mountain bikers preparing for a downhill race, thankfully on a separate trail!
Everyone arrived back in Tomintoul around 4pm, where well-earned refreshments were enjoyed before we left at 4.30pm. Jo, our driver had us safely back in Aberdeen by 6.30pm. Alan
