We had fine weather leaving Aberdeen with 26 walkers on board for the drive to Perthshire.  The journey was straightforward, with a comfort stop in Dunkeld, despite a cycling event around Pitlochry causing some road closures.  A small group chose to walk along the Rob Roy way to the east of Aberfeldy towards Grandtully, but the majority of walkers started with the scenic climb up the Birks of Aberfeldy. At the top of the Birks, the route joined the Rob Roy way, where there was a choice of longer or shorter routes taking in parts of the Way before returning to the descent path of the Birks.  The weather stayed fine for the whole day, despite the forecast of possible rain, and all the walkers were back in good time to enjoy refreshments in Aberfeldy.  We left Aberfeldy on time and arrived back in Aberdeen earlier than scheduled.
