Forthcoming Walks

Aberdeen Hillwalking Club has a regular programme of fortnightly Sunday outings each year from March to November, and monthly winter walks in December, January and February.  The annual programme comprises a rich variety of both ‘point – to – point’ walks and circular walks.

Outings are by hired coach leaving from New Telecom House, South College St., with a second pick-up point at the bus stop on Great Southern Road next to Allanvale Cemetery.

Advance bookings  are necessary and individuals are encouraged to create a log in and book directly through this web site. An email from Word Press will confirm your place on the coach.

Members may book up to two outings in advance on line. Once a booking has been made people are responsible for turning up or cancelling and the latter can be managed on line.  Bus hiring arrangements are finalised on the Thursday preceding a day outing and all on line bookings and cancellations should be made by Thursday 11:30 pm. after which the on line facility is closed. For bookings or cancellations after the cut-off  please contact Gilbert.  The committee reserve the right to ask for the booking fee if members fail to show for a walk without contacting the bookings secretary

The Club does not operate a leader/back marker system, but route sheets for each walk can be found on line.  Ideally, people should have map reading and navigational skills, but this is not essential as guidance will be provided for inexperienced walkers. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear is essential.  The club reserves the right to turn away walkers wearing unsuitable clothing.  If you don’t have an email the bookings secretary Gilbert can be contacted telephone 01224 484361 (7pm to 8pm).
