There were 26 out on today’s walk. We picked up Alasdair at Braemar castle and continued to Braemar for a comfort stop. Jules parked the bus at Inverey carpark for the start of the walk at the foot of Glen Ey. 20 headed off to do the walk as per the route sheet to climb the munro of Carn Bhac (946m), our congratulations to Steph, Wendy, Gorjana, Claire and Maureen for climbing their first munro, the first of many perhaps. 4 set off for Carn Liath (818m), Rosemary and Fiona returned via the valley of the Allt Cristie Beag while Frank and Gilbert continued over Geal Charn returning over the Top of the Battery. John walked up Glen Ey to the ruin of Altanour Lodge to do some photography. The weather improved as the day went on with the morning mist clearing from the tops giving good views to the south towards Beinn A’Ghlo. Alex, Carlos and Ray who were back to the bus early hitched a lift to Braemar for refreshments. The bus departed on time where we headed to Ballater for our pub stop after picking up the 3 at Braemar. Jules had us back to Aberdeen for about 8pm. Alan
