The weather forecast was not looking good for the day with heavy rain as we left Aberdeen and this influenced members’ choice of walk. We dropped off our first walker at Auchallater and continued up Glen Clunie to Baddoch where 10 members did a slightly shorter walk through the Bealach Buidhe to Loch Callater with 3 ascending the Corbett, Creag nan Gabhar. The main party of 13 did the walk as per the route sheet. The rain forecast appeared to have passed through during the night and early morning with skies clearing as we reached the summit of Carn an Tuirc. We walked on to get great views down into Corie Kander and descended to Loch Callater for lunch in the sunshine outside the bothy. 3 remained on the bus to have coffee in Braemar with Jules, our bus driver, before walking to our pick up point at Auchallater. We had a refreshment stop at Ballater and was back to Aberdeen at 5.30pm. Alan
