We had 31 walkers on the bus today, not bad for this time of year. The weather forecast was good with overcast cloud cover and only slight winds – no rain, so we made it a north to south walk, starting at Lunan and finishing at the promenade of Arbroath. The tide was receding at Lunan Bay until around 3pm and we had a pleasant walk along the beach to Corbie Knowe. Most followed the route sheet and we completed the 10.5 mile walk in 4.5 hours with a lunch stop at the village of Auchmithie, overlooking the sea. Once everyone was aboard the bus, it took us time to negotiate the narrow one- way streets of Arbroath, but Jules our driver, did this no bother and we had our customary 30 minute stop at Inverbervie, before arriving back at Aberdeen on time.
